CanadaBoth mothers who live on low incomes and local community food programs struggle with ensuring families are adequately fed. In describing a new Peterborough study, researcher Mary Anne Martin explores several apparent mysteries: the gap between primary responsibility for feeding families and inadequate resources to do so; the contradiction between Peterborough’s vibrant network of community food programs and its high levels of food insecurity; and the importance of food programs not focusing on the food.
The workshop will take place on the 2nd floor of Peterborough Public Health. Refreshments will be offered.
Free. Everyone welcome. For more information for this event, contact events@nourishproject.ca
